Finally Heard—A Neurology Home Worth the Wait
I saw Nurse Practitioner Dr. King, and she was terrific. I felt heard. I felt like this might be a new place I can finally call my neurology home. When you’ve suffered from migraines since age seven, it’s hard to trust a new provider. Most want to change everything or add more to your regimen without understanding what’s already working. Dr. King didn’t do that. She listened. She respected the path I’ve been on. It took about a month and a half to get the appointment, but it was worth every bit of the wait.
I didn’t feel dismissed. I wasn’t talked down to. I left feeling seen and validated.
I also ran into Dr. Gill while checking out. He was helping another patient, and even in that brief moment, his tone carried genuine concern and empathy. I’m looking forward to meeting him officially.
If you’re looking for a neurologist, please note that this is a specialized field. These appointments are not quick—and they shouldn’t be. Neurology requires in-depth consultation, and every patient has different needs. If you’re expecting things to happen quickly in any aspect of this process, it won’t. However, if you’re looking for genuine care, this team delivers. I did notice that when they refilled my meds even though I don't go back until November, I will have to request a refill every month. It's simply an extra step and is doable.
